Clearing the Sill Drains

Underneath the door sills of your miata are four slots that serve as drains. This photograph shows one of the slots near the rear wheel wells. These slots can fill with dirt or get pinched off by careless use of a jack.

To clean the drains, insert a flat bladed tool into the slot. The front slots are not as large and will require a smaller tool than the one pictured. Actually, any thin object will work to clear these slots.
